If you have a friend with an X800 Pro (Any maker, ATI, Sapphire, retail or OEM), listen to the fan on that. Its silent a first, but when it hits the 95% mark, it will make a "scratchy" noise. T43 = Makes an WHHRRR (Low or high pitched, I prefer high pitched more still)
Still better than the noise my videocard makes on my desktop

if anyone has a T43 they can't bear to have around because of the fan noise, i'd be happy to take it off their hands

You know, I actually never realized how quiet the fan on my old 380ED was until I replaced the old hard drive with a newer one that makes almost no noise what so ever. This laptop makes some noise but not much and what noise there is comes in the form of a barely audbile hum that is in such a pitch that it's really not a bother.

If after hearing this, any dis-satisfied T43 owner wants to trade laptops with me, I'll be glad to pay shipping.

Hmm... tempting... I want a fast laptop... but I love the X series form factor...

Got a T43 with fan noise problems?

My X21's got a pretty quiet HDD - I can't really hear it. I also have to put my ear up to the fan vent to hear that.

Heck, I'll even throw in the WiFi card!

(j/k! I'd have put this in the for sale forum if I was serious!)
