Stolen goods?

#1 Post by at both ends » Wed Apr 11, 2012 11:28 pm

On my local kijiji, which is not well travelled because a couple of other sites are busier marketplaces, up pops a fully loaded W520 (quad processor, 16GB RAM, FHD screen, spare 9 cell battery, only turned on once to shoot the photos in the ad, then repacked in its box) for what looks to me like 1/3 of retail if I figure in sales taxes.

I'm wondering if it's hot. What say you?

How much is it? If its too low it maybe a Nigerian con. One of those send me money via PayPal I will ship it from Africa type deals.
I see a lot of those on Kijiji for Macbooks that too good to be true.
The oldest trick is I'm in the army, I'm selling cause I got shipped out, so I'll send it to you once you pay me via PayPal.
You need to tell me how much it is for me to be able tell yah if its too good to be true.

Seller says 2 1/2 years left on the warranty too!

Asking $800.

Quadro 1000 or 2000?
Which i7 CPU is it?
Could be off lease.
Low end i7 with Quadro 1000 off lease can be sold for 800 easy.

Quadro 2000. i7-2720qm.

How could it be off lease if it's only been turned on once? (I admit that could be a story.)

Wow Quadro 2000 3 year warranty.
2720 is a pretty low end i7 for the W520, but even so 800 with 16gb ram.
Sounds like your gonna be sending money to Nigeria.
It could be off lease, but even then that price is [censored] low.
I would contact the Guy and see what the deal is.
That's a unreal price

If its stolen he'd be selling through other channels for more money.
That price is low even for stolen.

Be careful ofthise Nigerian shipping scams though.

You should pounce on that.

Too good to be true. Contact number "not in service". No response to email after 18 hours. (Maybe connectivity bad in Nigeria??? ;))

The biggest scam that people keep falling for when you've won something for free and there is no risk, even the shipping is free but for insurance reasons it needs to be paid by you, so we're going to send you a certified bank check, please cash it, it will take a max of 5 days to clear, as soon as the check clears take the funds to western union and send it to the shipping company and your package will be on its way. The idiot then deposits a check for $300, sends the money to the thieves and a week later the $300, plus returned check fee, and other fees are missing from his account and WU doesn't care... they just deliver the money, they don't care if they are helping to scam someone.
