4 gig RAM stick

#1 Post by dwilsonfl » Mon Jul 02, 2012 6:59 pm

My wife's HP 9000 has two sticks of RAM in it - a 4 gig (5300) and a 1 gig (5300). The system (Vista 32) only sees 2 gig of the 4 gig chip.

Seems like I'd be better off swapping the 4gig out and putting a 2gig in there.

Does it matter?

Thanks

David

Try the 4GB in a T61/R61/X61 with 64-bit OS or 32-bit Server 2008.
32-bit OS Vista/XP/W7 is limited to 4GB (2+2) or 3GB (2+1).
