The mini-usb connector easily snaps off the circuit board with damage to the tracks and surface mount components, but for anyone who's good at micro soldering it's a relatively straightforward job to repair. The most difficult joints are two which are 1mm apart.
I'm getting a number of enquiries from users in USA with this problem, but due to the lowish value of the Gypsy the repair charge has also to be relatively low, however the high carrriage costs between USA and UK makes the repair much too expensive.
Is there anyone from USA who's good at micro soldering coz I'd be happy to pass the enquiries to you - I'm not looking for any money from you. You must be able to do micro soldering already and not someone who wants to "give it a go".
The mini-USB Connector looks like this

If anyone's genuinely interested I'll send photos of a typical repair and we can take it from there.
To reiterate I'm not touting for work here, merely offering an opportunity for work to the right person in USA.
