Any Thinkpad 600 users still out there?
Hey all, my name is Ken and I am a new poster to the forum. This site has been a real help to me over the years as an avid reader however with various modifications that I have done to my Thinkpad 600E. As a result I have it maxed out with an MMC Module 2 Processor 850mhz, 544 MB of ram, 160GB HDD, Win XP and all that Jazz. I have owned this computer since 1999 and I refuse to let it go, I literally use it for everyday work. My question is this, is the Marcus M Deep-sleep utility still available anywhere for download? I have searched and searched and unfortunately have come up empty. I have found the PowerLeap utility to enable the L2 Cache but have not found found the utility that will enable me to run my 850Mhz Processor at full speed. I know of the modification with soldering that I can do to the chip itself, but I really don't want to cut and solder anything on this old tank. Is there a utility that might work to force the processor to run at the full speed instead of the 700mhz that I am getting now. My FSB is at 100mhz and I am fine with that, but for one last push I would love to get the full power that I can from this 850mhz processor. Thanks so much, and I hope someone can help me.

Hi Ken, good to see your post here, hope there will be more to come.
I don't have an answer to your main question, just to the topic title. Yes! I still run a 600e...bone stock, though, not modified like yours. It's not at the house, rather down at the store sitting next to the cash register so we can look up prices and inventory. Like you, I just can't bring myself to get rid of it, it's such a solid machine. But, I do often wish it was a bit more powerful. If they were, I would probably still own the three or four other 600X machines I used to have.

Thanks so much for the link, I will investigate and see what I can find on there. @ Neil I may unfortunately be forced to move on from this computer, my apartment got flooded the other night and my 600E was sitting in the floor (NOT GOOD) I will wait a few days before I attempt to power it on.
