French proposal would tax smartphones and tablets to fund cultural projects
I have never been fan of EU (having experiences with Comecon) but this is going way too far. What to expect next time, to tax each single key on keyboard ?

French proposal would tax smartphones and tablets

Re: French proposal would tax smartphones and tablets
I don't know about other UE countries, but in France we've been taxed on everything remotely capable of storing music (CD, DVD, MP3 players, USB keys, hard drives, phones, laptops, etc.) since forever... so, really, it's not like it's going to change much for us.
And at least this tax would have a slightly better purpose than the current ones, mostly aimed at ""compensating"" major music companies.
