Tunnelling RDP over SSH with a portable client

#1 Post by IbmPad » Mon Nov 18, 2013 3:58 pm

Hello,

Many people use Remote Desktop to remote control their server over the Internet. The RDP protocol is not very secure as it does not provide client authentication and often not even server authentication. One solution is to tunnel the RDP traffic through an SSH connection.

Using a modified version of PuTTY and the normal MSTSC, I have put together a portable SSH-RDP client that will automate the connection process along with a small guide on how to install OpenSSH and build the client. In case someone is interested you can download the package here.

Please excuse my bad English.
