Dear Bill, just think it over and let it be ;-)

How about creating some *meaningful* contributions to the forum before asking for an avatar,

Hello!

What should i give?

For which higher sense?

Just look out my thread to the 701c, this will be something given to the forum and all in and out here.

If you won*t agree in this, so don't agree in it, i have just asked if it might be possible to get an own avatar, one i will be able to create by myself, if this is a problem to anyone it is not my thing.

Greets,

PT

Personally, I wouldn't care for avatars on the Forum. I like being able to spot Mods' post by their avatars. I also like the Bold print for some of our senior contributors' user names. For me, the absence of member avatars provides a clean and clear look to Forum posts. But if you prefer color, you can easily add color to your signature line. :thumbs-UP:

If all you are really interested in is having an avatar on a Thinkpad forum, I suggest you join the German Thinkpad Forum instead.

@RealBlackStuff,
He is already registered in our forum: http://thinkpad-forum.de/members/69152-PandorasThinkpad

I don´t mind having no Avatar here. It is a nice way to recognize mods, and the forum is a bit more uniform.

That's your personal opinion and you might have it as well as i want to be respected in having mine.

If no one else would have a nice picture accorded to his or her name, i would like to have it, this is just what i like to have.

It will depend on Bill, the founder, and some other to realize it or not to realize it.

And by the way, i am member of the german thinkpad forum. The same name and with a nice picture i have designed.

The founders just may think it over and give some feedback about, that's quite all of the show and what i hope to get.

And something else, this guy ibthink, is also a member there, so you may have a look at this page, too:
http://thinkpad-forum.de/members/44489-ibmthink

And just once again, i would find it a nice thing to have the ability to create an avatar by my own and to chose it with limited space to "speak" out what my name should stand for. That's what i like to do, and now the best in deciding what really might be.

My subjective opinion is that I do like the forum the way it is set up now. It has become comfortable to navigate and it is easy to tell who is a mod as they are the only forum members with avatars. Clear delineation of important site landmarks and no distractions from possible flashy gifs is professional imo.

This has been asked and answered already (many times in other threads). Bringing it back up after a year isn't going to change anything. Thread locked.
