I am working in Barcelona (Catalunya/Spain) and at least in our company of about 200 employees most are using various kinds of recent Thinkpad models, me included.

That's not very usual in Spain... most people I know that works with the company's laptop are using Dell or HP. I've seen too town halls that works with Thinkpad Edge (not "true" thinkpads"). And, for private use, Thinkpads are almost inexistent (comparing with the number of other laptops that you can see in everyday life...).

It is not very common but Lenovo things are.
I can see it in big malls - where you can buy food, things for plants and pets, small furniture or kitchen helpers (anything that needed for everyday household) and... television or Lenovo notebook (not Thinkpad!). In special computer malls i can see both Thinkpads and Ideapads. There are shops with used thinkpads too. In outpatient hospitals (policlinic) i have seen Lenovo desktops. Big companies must have strong brand line dictated by brand loyalty program. But i don't know how Lenovo and Think brand are widespread. Our firm is not big - so there is no such politics. Many brands are working together. We have some Lenovos, HP, Dells and may be something else. I have seen oldschool Thinkpads owned by my coworkers personally.
I didn't saw RealBlack Thinkpad in coffee house or fast food. But i remember that many years ago when i was on last year of my University 2 of my 2nd year students have bought Thinkpads! These days i had Samsung and don't know anything about Black Bento Boxes... But now i understand that they have gotten 14" T4x (or may be R40). I don't know about IBM(Lenovo) educational program in my country. I don't remember any computer shop inside campus. And outside no one knows that you are student.
