Moved after a month of transition, I'm back baby!

#1 Post by Saucey » Wed Jul 09, 2014 11:14 am

I have to say, having a month of un-dedicated internet took its toll on me.
I brought a PS3 gaming system but had no TV nor monitor to play on, didn't bring my W700ds nor W500 to game League of Legends on, no-one to really hang out with while here.

Tried to move in with my friends apartment, taking my room n stuff with me, but the landlord didn't want me staying.
Had to move back home for a few weeks, I had planned it all wrong, I should of moved after my trip to Vegas (June 18-20th).
Great thing about craigslist is that I was able to find a couch to sleep on half a week and now I found a room to rent as well!
Heh, I bummed it for a day, luckily I had relatives I was able to get into contact with to stay here for the smooth transition.
I have to say this is a big change for me, not that I dislike my hometown nor lived in a bad neighborhood, there was nothing to do.
Checking the laptop market here, the difference from San Diego and Hesperia is huge!
So if you see a few ThinkPads being sold in San Diego, especially if it has some sort of carbon fiber wrap vinyl, most likely its me. 8)
Since this is a populated area, I'll be able to get bites on my machines, I maybe had them listed for 2 months before someone would say something.

I am managing somewhat well, $2000 goes by alot quicker in a month here if you try to move alone.
Those vans/trucks listed at $20 from uHaul ended up costing me $70, gas + mileage, I paid a stranger-now-friend $40 for helping me out, got the move done within 3 hours.
My friends/would be roommates were nice enough to let me keep my crap in their apartment til I made the transition.
Though I miss the space and garage from my old home, the temperature and people are a lot nicer here.
The best part about working in downtown San Diego is all the bars and restaurants I can visit while on lunch.
Not that Starbucks is that stressful, its a lot easier here than in my old town due to it being busier and not a drive thru store.

After awhile here, I'll find a nice place to post a photo for the Flat Stanley topic.
I was going to take my X300 to Electric Daisy Carnival when I was in Vegas, but... well I never asked if it was fine so I didn't risk it.
Now looking back I should of though, maybe if I have a "throw away" laptop I'll bring one, their rules were alot more lenient than they posted.

Blimey, that sounds like a major upheaval. Rather you than me! I prefer the peace and quiet of village life.
