KB3035583 Windows Update

Microsoft has released an Important update KB3035583 these days. According Eset forum it does not look to be nice

Thanks for the advice. I had already installed it, so I made sure to uninstall it. Be aware that Windows Update tries to install it again the next time you do updates, so check the updates carefully and hide update KB3035583.

Edit: After I rebooted today, the "Windows 10 is here - get started" banner showed up, so I realized that the actual executable that the update installed was still hiding somewhere. After some research, I located the file GWX.exe under C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft-windows-gwx_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.17738_none_4552196d71af054a. Like I have seen with Update applied files like this, it's owned by user TRUSTED INSTALLER, so I needed to take ownership before I could delete it.

Note that deleting system files is performed on you own risk, and I do this just because I have a newly created image I can reapply if something happens.

It's a month+ old update, which from some reason they now flagged as "important". Just a Win10 ad, basically, the way I understand it.

Yes, it's a pop-up telling you that Win10 is here. So there is nothing harmful, just the annoyance of getting useless stuff installed on your computer without your knowledge. It might be just me that overreacts, and it has nothing to do with bad feelings towards Win10 itself, as that so far seems to be a better choice for me than Win8 / 8.1. I just don't like the way this is done. Same deal as the Browser Choice update that was forced on users here in Europe some years ago.
