Support my old tech hoarding by telling me whats good to collect!

Hi everyone!
So I got lucky and got hired to work at an electronic recycler warehouse.
We get tons of TVs, desktops and... old electronic junk!

Pretty much the boss gives us a nice discount for items we'd like to keep and not resell.
I got my eye out for Laserdisc players, Trinitron TVs, ThinkPads, mechanical keyboards, oddware, junk... but I really don't know what is out there that was 'good'.
So everyone, whats out there that you considered great when it was in its prime?
I would like to expand my laptop collection other than ThinkPads.
So if there are awesome links to retro stuff, please post!

If its quirky or just odd, I may like to keep for giggles for youtube or imgur gallery.

Is it high quality stuff or a you trash it we stash it type operation?

In general, avoid the i-series and pre R50 models. These were made by acer and had problems with build quality. I would personally collect:

701C, 770Z with SXGA screen, 600X, A31p, T43p 15" with UXGA, T601 15" Frankenpad with QXGA display mod, X301, W701ds

And I'm sure that if some really old Thinkpads and IBM Tablets comes your way, that you don't want to keep, that they will be put up for sale here. Some really old ones might even ship to Norway.

@Hans Gruber, its a hit and miss. We buy from those who have the "I'll pick up your unwanted stuff" ads on their cars and Craigslist. We get medical, and dental stuff too. There was a sweet load of E6400-6420's that were good, 2011 iMacs, and some UXGA 20" Dell Ultrasharps. Receivers and flat screen TVs come and go pretty quickly.


@brchan, I kind of want those gnarly units, unless the LCD and hinges are completely destroyed, I'll save it from the scrapper than sell it.



@Norway Pad, Oh yes, the guys there know I'm a crazy ThinkPad guy. They always say they got one in the truck, crazy but there was a T440 Ultradock a client got rid of, I think they might of made a mistake.

I can't wait til there's a nice Amiga, Atari or IBM PC that comes by.

Indeed! I can pretty much say that it would never have worked out for me to have a job like that. I see how my house quickly would have been filled up with tons and tons of old electronic stuff.
