Denmark post office international tracking

#1 Post by Love2Dream » Sun May 24, 2015 8:58 pm

Hi just wondering if someone can help me, I purchase an item from a seller in Denmark on facebook, approximatly 3 weeks ago on 6th may to be sent to Australia. On the 9th May 2015 when I track it using the denmark post office site it said it has left the senders country. It is now 25th may (Australia time zone) and still no parcel or any updates from the Denmark post office site since it left the country on the 9th May 2015. I contacted Australia custom and post office and they advise me there's no psrcel or tracking available, so it has not arrive in Australia. They informed me it should have arrived within 2 weeks since its airmail. I contacted the seller and he making a claim. My question is how long roughthly would it take for a parcel from demark to arrive in Australia and why is there no update on tracking system to see where it is? Can someone please help me or shed some light of hope :(

I don't have experience with Australia, but if their customs is anything like our customs over here where I am, then it is not impossible for a package to get stuck there for weeks, before anyone processes it. And until someone processes it, there is no record, so of course they will tell you that it hadn't arrived.

It is also possible for airmail to take unusually long. In the past I have had packages sent to me from country A, go through some sorting center in country B for no apparent reason, since country B is nowhere along the most direct route.

In short, I wouldn't declare things lost yet. Making a claim is the right thing to do at this point.

A couple of times, around Christmas time and other times of the year with a lot of holidays, I have experienced that packets from the US took between 2 and 3 weeks to come to Norway. And according to the tracking, customs was the bottleneck. I also have experiences that customs don't always know what they have recieved, so don't trust their word 100% on this one.

If you're up to a month, and still no sign of it, I would be more worried.

Maybe the Danish Post Office sent it surface mail rather than air mail? It could be at sea for 6 or 7 weeks and then face customs.

If you look at this link it says it should take 7-8 work days. But as others have said, it could be stuck in customs.
