What is this? Only one tip for ultraslim power brick??

But my story is more interesting;)
Long time ago i dreamed about W701. But have got only W700 for about $100. And...
Have won ebay auction (initially i haven't believed that i can).
Initially i have thought that it have 2GHz CPU. But after winning i understand that "Processor NOT INCLUDED". Ok - not a problem i can get one. 2GB DDR3 - not a problem - i have planty of it. So something is broken inside... Not a problem $115 - even for lid with LCD is a good price.

After a month of waiting it finally arrived to my house;)
No Power brick - no problem i take it from W700 - but power indicator under the screen haven't light on and ThinkPad won't start :(
No battery - not a problem - i take it from W700 and place in W701. And push the button. And it started..... and Thinkpad logo have shown on the screen (without a CPU? :). Pressed F1 - and find out thai it have 820QM + 6GB RAM.
But yes it won't eat AC power ;(.
I begin disassembly and find out - that 2Gb stick have been placed in slot on bottom and 2x2GB under keyboard. May be the seller didn't known about under keyboard memory sockets? And he can't start it up with power brick and thought that CPU is dead???

Now i trying to understand the power problem. I'll happy if it is something simple like power socket defect. But anyway replacement W701 mobo + this fully working W701 will be cheaper than normal W701.

lucky you!!
If I saw that one back then, I'd take it.
But still, the best way to pick cheap stuff is through best offers, I got myself a fully working W701 (i7 820qm, 6GB RAM, WUXGA, digitizer/calibrator plus power brick) for $250, well it wasn't fully working, keyboard power button was broken *facepalm*
But unfortunately after two weeks, just before I list it on feebay, it died.
But still, plus a replacement mobo, the price is quite decent. Maybe just not as good as yours though

Ohhhh boy. Nobody will ever buy it, that old iSeries is pretty much worthless. They're a nice curiosity if obtained for *FREE*. I didn't even pay anywhere near 4K for my ThinkPad 850...

Or how about a non-flexview 14.1" T43p for 1K?

Oh yeah, totally worth it... the 'practically new' chassis with the worn down corners of the lid really has me sold. It even comes with Adobe *Reader*, wow!

I think this is a steal knowing how many hours the previous owner spend trying to create the "patina" this machine has.
