Canada Post strike going up this July 2th.

To all, anyone doing this any mail via Canada Post stuff be prepared for wait, Canada Post workers going on strike this July 2th. :(

Good for them. US postal workers are banned from striking.

That deadline is the Corporations deadline to lock the Postal Workers out of the building. The union has not intention of going on strike as long as negotiations continue, which is what is going on right now. The two sides are closer than they have been, and it is hoped that a lockout can be averted.

Apparently the corporation has given 72 hour notice of a lockout, and pensions are the major issue: the corporation wants to take away real pensions and replace them with the equivalent of a subsidized investment plan for new workers. I wish the posties the best. I can wait for my fleabay stuff. :P
