Lenovo has trouble with English (ThinkPads Cheating Death)

#1 Post by micrex22 » Sun Jan 08, 2017 12:14 am

I wasn't deliberately seeking these spelling or grammatical errors, but it seems like China's Lenovo has a lot of them on their 'Thinkpads cheating death' article.

  • "but none of that components to what your're about read."
  • "Here are a few amazing-but-true stories from ThinkPad's recent history"
  • "Anybody can do 6 feel - but can you do it from the ceiling?"
  • "when someone was soliciting ideas to highlight the famous spill-resistant ThinkPad keyboard, we Garrett"
My favourite is "WE GARRETT!" The second one is hotly debated; it follows poor grammatical exercise popularized by the Apple Corporation. So, it should be from THE ThinkPad's recent history. If you were doing a documentary on cheetahs and said: "and now we look at cheetah's recent history" it just sounds wrong. Unless cheetahs, MacBooks and ThinkPads are now considered as people.

Thinkpads are people. I'm practically married to one.

They need better english speakers/translators.

There's no excuse for a major international corporation to produce material like that.
