I tried the lower position in the showroom but the keyboard is too light so it won't stay "sticked" with the desk but went up ~5mm on the back side all the time.pianowizard wrote: ↑Sat Dec 22, 2018 10:42 amI haven't seen the Surface Go yet, but the detachable keyboard of my Surface 3 (which probably has a very similar keyboard as the Surface Go) can be used in an upper position and a lower position. It feels much more solid in the lower position, where the keyboard lies flat on the desk. I hate the upper position.ly narrow in portrait mode.

My Surface 3's keyboard drops all the way down. A while ago I looked up the weight of the Surface Go keyboard and I vaguely recall that it was actually a little heavier than the Surface 3's. Perhaps in that showroom the keyboard had been stuck in the upper position for too long, so the "hinge" couldn't unbend completely when you tried to lay the keyboard flat on the table.

But that's exactly the point ! Since it's detachable, you don't have to put up with this disgrace of a keyboard

CES 2019 | The Huawei MateBook 13 is coming to the United States for $999 USD
https://www.notebookcheck.net/The-Huawe ... 591.0.html
Huawei will be sticking to the 3:2 display aspect ratio for productivity reasons similar to the Microsoft Surface series. Glossy touchscreen will come standard across all SKUs in the United States while SKUs in Asia will have non-touchscreen options.
The pop-up webcam of the MateBook X Pro received criticism from day one and so we're glad to see it back to its rightful place atop the screen.
Four navigation keys are clustered (via Fn), still better than current Lenovo stupid 6-row layout that splits them into opposite sides of the keyboard Unfortunately $1000 means at least 1400 Euro over here Time to use those US delivery services to workaround the EU crap.

Who the hell measures minimum brightness?!?
I want to know maximum brightness.
I want to know maximum brightness.
Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.
The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

For me it is much more important than the maximum one I don't care of at all.Thinkpad4by3 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 5:09 pmWho the hell measures minimum brightness?!?

Gloss...ugh...
Other than that it seems like a sweet unit, 6-row atrocity aside...

I understand. However, that fact alone makes them a complete non-starter for silly old me.

I've found a solution...I fog up my glasses! The only problem is the rest of the image also becomes matte.

I understand that "silly old me" is just an expression, but in this case I do think you are being silly, refusing to adapt to new technologies. Eventually your T61p will be too old to do anything useful, you know.

Re: Have you joined the 3:2 club yet?
That's perfectly fine. By that time I won't need a mobile device anymore, and I can't see hi-end desktop monitors all turning glossy...pianowizard wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 9:52 amI understand that "silly old me" is just an expression, but in this case I do think you are being silly, refusing to adapt to new technologies. A 14" screen or smaller is too small for me, while a 15.4' / 15.6" screen at 3:2 would be too tall, It would look, in a word, fugly. I like the 16:10 ratio.
