What do you typically eat for dinner?
Just curious to see what people eat for dinner. I stir fried some chicken, fresh green beans, and carrots, and had that with some rice. I usually do some variation of that but with different types of meat and vegetables.

At home, things really vary.
Yesterday, I had a plate of fried chicken wings, a basket of onion rings and a chicken sandwhich. Day before, I had spaghetti. Soetime last week, I had some gumbo.
Tonight, I had a t-bone steak.
When eating out, I decide to splurge with my wallet like last week when I had the plate of 20 hot wings from WildWing or I'll go to Waffle House and get the 14oz steak, hash browns, salad, fried eggs and toast with a waffle to go along with all of it (best part is I can eat that meal and go for seconds without gaining a pound.). When I want to conserve money, I go to Taco Bell and get 4 or 5 tacos.
I'm also partial to Asian food. There's a Japanese and Chinese buffet down the road from me that has pretty good sushi as well as some good lo mein. I go there when if I want foreign food but can't decide between Chinese or Japanese.

Sirlion, steamed broccoli and baked potato tonight as we went out. My wife likes to make a sit down meal each night, so we don't eat out a great deal or eat "ready to eat" meals. Typical week will be some kind of chicken, pork chops, salad, pierogies and soup, sub sandwiches and maybe a steak. That's pretty typical of what we eat. Every once and a while tacos, quesadillas and stir fry (love House of Seng (sp?) classic stir fry sauce).

Steak sounds good... I rarely have a good steak, although I do stir fry small amounts of beef at least twice per week. I'm still living on a tight budget though
Food is one of the things I am willing to spend a little extra money on. Good food generally means better health, so I don't buy a whole lot of pre-packaged junk. Unfortunately this means I have to spend a bit more time cooking.

As last night was Father's day, and me being a Dad, I got to cook.
I grilled some Rib-eyes, boiled some fresh corn on the cob, steamed some fresh asparagus, baked southern style baked beans, and some yeast rolls.
Usually during the week, we do a meatloaf, some chicken, some fish, with mixed veggies (steamed) or fresh squash sauteed in olive oil. Try to have a garden salad with those. And every other week, we sneak in a night of homemade tacos/burritos.
When we splurge, we go to our favorite Mexican place (been going there 8 years) and have them do the cooking and enjoy their family recipe sangria and family recipe salsa!

Similar for me: steamed chicken, green beans, carrots, and most every meal have loads of basmati rice, cooked light with herbs. Usually do various meats and seafoods, always with basil, oregano, sage, garlic, and plenty of extra virgin olive oil. NEVER: hydrogenated anything, high fructose corm syrup, or MSG.

really, just depends on the mood I am in...I keep my fridge pretty empty and just either order something in or I will go and get something to make what ever I feel like. I am a pretty good cook. I couldn't imagine planning out a dinner as I am constantly changing my mind.
