Seagate hard drive users: check them with gsmartcontrol!

I just had to clone my data to another new WD 4TB Gold (based on HGST HD) off the green seagate 2TB. Also was so glad I cloned a enterprise 2TB to Toshiba 2TB and later checked the seagate enterprise HD for any issues, this was from a family computer. Did find both has remapped surface defect count went up.

Green seagate 2TB is low use, and other is seagate enterprise rated 2TB HD. Now do not trust seagate anymore

gsmartcontrol is a small, open source utility works on windows but pack pretty good features for querying the SMART. Includes surface scan select able short or long run.

PS: I know had to prepare the 4TB as GPT layout from MBR layout, already have first 4TB Gold exact model too for OS boot.
