Basic rule: no Google products in my home ... I made this decision a long time ago and it's been a wise one :)

Heh... I stopped using Chrome (except for certain, very infrequent tasks for work which virtually require the platform) a number of years ago. With all the latest buzz about it I see I wasn't wrong to!

Make that one order of Firefox please.
I just downloaded it. Let's see how it goes. Google has gone too far.
I have a Google Pixel and I refuse to use the fingerprint reader. I don't trust Google.

GClean from Abelssoft keeps Google under lock and key for the most part on my machine, which uses Comodo Dragon.

GClean - The software that asks for your name and email address?? I think NOT somehow..

I will stick to using what I know works WITHOUT the need for such information to be handed out like candy.

Huh? It's never asked me for my name and e-mail address. If it asks you, use a fake name and disposable e-mail address. Simple as that.

Fun fact: GoogleUpdate.exe puts triggers in your Task Scheduler. You can delete them.

There's no ned to use Chrome with Firefox and Opera available.

Or even Vivaldi.

Update: Google announced that the cookie clearing logic will include Google cookies again when it releases Chrome 70.

Still a nice try, Google

Firefox was born from the ashes of Netscape Navigator. Funny you should mention that.

Netscape Navigator is now SeaMonkey, and has been for some time!

I still use SeaMonkey for my email client and occasionally use the SeaMonkey browser. However I don't use the SeaMonkey browser as much as I would otherwise to shield my email a little bit from my web surfing.

No Google product in my home ... still a good idea Oxford researchers exposed the avalanche of data Google and Facebook can hoover up from apps on your phone

Here's how others stack up:
Alphabet: 88.44%
Facebook: 42.55%
Twitter: 33.88%
Verizon: 26.27%
Microsoft: 22.75%
Amazon: 17.91%

I feel like the best thing about Microsoft is that they are incompetant in many arenas.

Would you use Bing? How safe is Edge?

We know Google and Facebook are the devil and you can handily ignore Twit and Amazon.

With 3 alternate big name browsers its not like as if you are tied.

Do you guys like duck duck go?

Both PaleMoon and SlimJet browsers come with DuckDuckGo as their default search engine.

I finally got around to installing Slimjet. Very nice. It is now my default browser.

Thanks for the tip.
