The tablet in the video that is V-shaped seems to be relatively square?!?

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

You younglings have fun with that one, I'll stick with 1920x1200 on a 15.4" or even 17"...

Can't say I disagree. I went to the computer store and took a look at 100% scaling of a 4K 15.6" display and I took the machien and stuck it up to my eyes and said, "I don't know where this is useful but darn is it beautiful"

Sent on a 1920x1200 IPS 24" monitor  .

1920x1200 on a 24 inch monitor, that's the perfect resolution for me too, I can clearly see everything there without eye fatigue.

On a laptop my 15 inch SXGA+ is the ideal resolution, UXGA is already too small. I really envy people with those superhuman eyesights, where they claim to see differences on 5 inch phone displays between fullhd, 2560x something and 4k.

My opinion personally, is that Windows scaling looks ... wrong. Working on that MacBook Pro 15" with the 2560x1600 screen, you really need to do 125% scaling (or was it 150%?) to have it 'useable' (without breaking your eyes).

I guess I'm just used to the '100% scale' used over the last 20 years. All the fonts just look ... wrong. Everything just looks ... wrong. Plus, a bunch of windows end up blurry. The font used in Visual Studio (Consolas?) just looks hideous with the extra detail in any scale over 100%. It starts looking like Comic Sans ... I just can't do it yet.

That's mostly why I really wanted to go back to 1080p (or 1200). I'm starting to get older, but for me 1920x1080 on a 13" is still the 'optimal' density. Anything more and it just needs to be scaled anyway ...

Well Consolas is a raster font not a TrueType so that would explain the bluriness there.

I've used scaling a bit from 7+ and never seen an issue but YMMV.
