My wishes have been answered.

A Android phone.....with a headphone jack, with dual speakers, with a decently thick design, SD card(look like it but not confirmed), dedicated dual stage shutter button, and it has a keyboard. A REAL KEYBOARD   !!

At this point I couldn't give a crap it's a 6" display with that hardware getting packed in.

I hear you!

Still using a Blackberry Priv, mostly due to its' slider keyboard.... I only "upgraded" from the BBY Passport and its' fantastic keyboard after it accidentally became a waterlogged doorstop

It will be interesting to see if this phone catches on. Good find!

Regards.

Very interesting, though it probably weighs a lot.

If you guys like phones with mechanical keyboards, have you looked into the BlackBerry Key 2? It has very positive reviews on Amazon.

Do you guys really type faster on mechanical keyboards than on touchscreen ones? Or do you just find physical keys more comfortable? My first two smartphones (Palm Centro, HTC Touch Pro2), which I had from 2007 to 2014, both had mechanical keyboards and I thought I wouldn't be able to type as fast on virtual keyboards. When I had to retire the Touch Pro2, I was forced to consider upgrading to a keyboard-less phone, though the 4.3" Motorola Photon Q with a real keyboard was also a candidate. I compared my typing speed on the Touch Pro2's keyboard versus the virtual keyboard of an eReader I happened to have, and was surprised that I typed more or less equally fast on both devices. That convinced me that I didn't have to stubbornly hold on to obsolete keyboard phones.

Good, I'll now know when I forget it, I won't feel it.

I can type just as fast on a touchscreen as a physical keyboard. Its not that...its the headphone jack, the two giant speakers, the SD card expandability, AND then the keyboard. I like to use the keyboard for playing emulators because its basically an inbuilt controller of sorts. Works fine for most games. Also its a fidget toy connected to my phone. Also with the Key2 I don't like the square display because I use my phone to watch video a lot and its just ludicrous to try and use that phone for media consumption.

Mixed feelings here.

Love the idea of a phone with a *real* keyboard, since I loathe the virtual ones for their lack of feedback.

However...I can't tolerate Android in any shape or form. At my workplace, I don't have a choice but I doubt that I'd buy an Android-powered device for personal use.

Any particular reason to your distaste of Android?

Can't say I blame you. And there is a reason I won't use a fingerprint reader on any Android phone, especially coming from the devil themselves. But Google is one of the few manufacturers who still believe in somewhat reasonable sized devices....so I got one.
