Fake listings on the Lenovo outlet?
Has anyone noticed that when ever they search for a machine on the outlet, there is always a machine at the top with some really nice specs and it sells for like 25-33% of the original price but it is always sold out. Then there are just the normal machines below it for the 50-75% of the original price like most listings on the outlet. Has anyone ever actually bought one of those fire sale machines or have any knowledge they actually exist or is Lenovo playing dark tricks on us?
And if anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about, here is a screenshot. The P71 is the first machine on the list of 17.3" Thinkpads, and the P70 is the second one shown.

Re: Fake listings on the Lenovo outlet?
It's probably out of stock because it's such a good deal, sold out instantly, and Lenovo didn't take it down yet

Re: Fake listings on the Lenovo outlet?
Not being in North America, most Lenovo Outlet 'deals' would be hard for me to take advantage of, plus their policy of slashing the warranty to non-upgradeable 1-year depot, even on computers allegedly sold as 'New', is completely atrocious (DELL gives full 3-year warranties even on 'refurbished' models sold from its outlet!)
So yes, they suck, even before this shady crap. Screw them, I say.

Re: Fake listings on the Lenovo outlet?
If you can, then it means they have changed their policy. Maybe it's worth checking for some folks who consider buying from the outlet (I'm not one of them).

I think you can upgrade the warranties after, if I recall correctly
One can purchase a post-warranty service agreement which is a completely different thing. They've stopped extending warranty on Outlet items years ago.

If so, that's a shame
