Jason Bourne Product placement of ThinkPads

#1 Post by ThinkPad560X » Thu Mar 28, 2024 3:58 pm

This is for anyone that likes looking for in movie placements. There is also In movie cars website for anyone into that. This is going through all the 4 Bourne Films. There are other brands such as Dell, Panasonic, Sony & HP seen, but this is a ThinkPad site, so only ThinkPad/IBM/Lenovo.

The Bourne Identity (2002) Lenovo/Motorola DualBand StarTAC (Asset looks at his phone by kid on piano when assets are being activated), several mixed White IBM LCD - CRT 1995-2000 displays, Top corner blue IBM badge logo (Conklin's operations room) and other brand monitors.

The Bourne Supremacy (2004) IBM ThinkPad A20m-22m during someone looking up fingerprint searching down in an archive's facility. IBM ThinkPad A20M-22M (Shown image of it in Conklin's Documents and on meeting table) At first looks like a T20-23 but then can see the A20M shape angles if pause film. Plus you can see it has the dock holder for the optional Webcam, Bluetooth or Mic on the top lid.

The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) Lenovo/Motorola Razr V3 Black. Bourne buys it at the train station as a burner for the journalist. Didn't see ThinkPads or Lenovo PCs mostly they went with HP in this film.

The Bourne Legacy (2012) Lenovo ThinkVision 15"-17" LCD (In Lab)

Jason Bourne (2016) Nicky Parsons enters hack camp and brings out IBM ThinkPad R60 15" nonwide screen model as can see the S-Video port on side.
Lenovo ThinkPad L450 x2 at scene where Jason gives German hacker flash drive to access files. At first it looks to be a T460 as the film is 2016 or a T450 but looking at film paused, the fingerprint reader doesn't lineup with the arrow keys like the T450/T460 does. It does lineup like the L450/L460 does and to confirm if it is a L450 or L460 is the Lenovo logo on the lid. L450 uses the Very start of Lenovo silver badge on lid and 460 series to 480 switched to the corner engraved Lenovo and then the silver square Lenovo in same place on 490/14. They have stickers covering ThinkPad on lid and palmrest and a sticker where Lenovo on lid of L450 would be. This also has the raised batter as well.

That's a pretty impressive piece of research. Nice to know there are Thinkpad fans involved with the series. :D
