Is There a Secret ThinkPad Wave?

#1 Post by Hangfire » Sun Jun 27, 2004 5:41 pm

I own a '71 Corvette and everytime I pass another Corvette I wave and the other driver waves back. It's called the "Corvette Wave", most old school Corvette owners know about it.

Do ThinkPad owners have a "secret wave", nod, wink, or handshake???

UNO owners do the same thing - however, we don't DARE lift our hands from the wheel so this tends to be exagerated head movements - so, all of you thinking the UNO driver in front of you is having an epileptic fit, you now know he's just acknowledging a fellow 'sufferer' ... take pity please.

As for the Thinkpad, would this take the form of a 'masonic' signature on e-mails?

I just met once someone that had a thinkpad. We recognized each other black laptop with a red dot in the keyboard and since them we became inseparables till graduation. In no other circustance I would have been his colegue! But ThinkPad did the imposible!!!

I used to be with Subarus (in Michigan) as Ian describe with UNOs, but since Subarus became to be made in the US and Outback passed to be 'comercialized', that wave dissapeared (however we still look each other in areas such as Flint or little towns) I have 270000miles (435000km) in my Buba and it does not know what a mechanic shop is.
X220t IPS but but a bit unhappy with it
T60p 2007-93U 1600x1200 IPS (T42p is an overall better machine though. Lack of new IPS Thinkpads keeps me buying these older models!)
T42p 2373-KXU 1600x1200 IPS (The best ever!!)
A20p 2629-6UU 1400x1050 (My first Thinkpad!)

all owners of thinkpads who bought them from thinkpads.com get a bird feather.. or should..

the cockatoos pack and the parrots give contradictory advice..

which usually results in mild "cat fights" between the girlbirds..

the guy birds stand around then and cheer.. :D

i use a bird feather in place of my PDA stylus..

THAT is the secret thinkpads.com owners alumnus signal..!

AND, FWIW, when i had my 1955 austin healy 100 in 1956 all sports car owners waved..
USUALLY to signify that, for now, nothing was about to explode under the bonnet..
