USB Trackball Doesn't Recall Configuration

Hi all,

I have a Microsoft Trackball Explorer that I dearly love. It connects via USB and uses Intellipoint software for button configuration. For some reason, if I unplug the cable, then reattach it, my T30 doesn't recall the button configuration, it reverts to default settings even though the Intellipoint settings show my preferred configuration. It's like the system is ignoring the software. If I reboot, the settings come back.

It worked fine on my Inspiron 4000.

Any ideas??

I'll be interested in seeing an answer. My USB mouse "forgets" that the wheel moves in 3-line increments when it's unplugged, even though the mouse program shows that selection--basically the same problem, I think.
