.. right out of my locked office room at daytime when I was away for half an hour.
I hope those junkies burn and die in hell when they notice my perfect rock solid T41p is bios locked and worthless.

Did you let IBM know your ThinkPad is stolen yet? It can't hurt to have them keeping an eye out on ThinkPad's they service.

I agree with AK470. If your BIOS lock included locking the Hard Drive, then they have to replace that. They may try to contact IBM in this case so it will be good to let them know. ... JDH
