thread drift is happening so this will be IT for this subject..tyipengr wrote:Heh, you mean Spend Francisco, Taxifornia? My city! I love this city but I have to say that the local politicians here are honestly nuts with our money. I think the homeless here are about 1-2 years away from getting BMWs and Rolexes with the option to free sex change operations at the city's expense.morrow wrote: i am from san francisco, taxafornia..![]()
my first sailboat, a 65' irwin was "from" prides crossing..
SV Cordial, Prides Crossing..
i left it that way..
even though i undocumented the boat and state registered it..
so as to avoid florida state sales tax..
imagine paying sales tax on a large house..!
blame willie brown, the $100k a year guy with $3k suits and $100k ferrari's and other fancy cars..
now that he is gone, hopefully the city will, in time, come back to its senses in time..
i know the city intimately from mt. davidson to cow hollow..
from great highway to hunters point..
from the top of the hill in daly city to my mom's gravesite in the presidio..
but when i left in 1988 i did not plan to return..
a decision i kind of regret and kind of not..
my last house i lived in was in los altos hills and if i were to return i would choose either palo alto or eichler highlands in san mateo..
if my house here keeps going the way it has for the past 3-4 years i should be able to afford a house on the peninsula..
but still, florida has no state income tax, 6% sales tax, low cost of living and i have acreage..
so when reality sets in, i'll probably stay here..
