Waiting on these thinkpads are killing me

Why do they take so long for express models?
Do they start building one as orders come in?

apparently they bulk ship items which have to clear customs. it's not one item at a time - it's like 100 laptops in a shipping container.

So then it's like batch process, right?
They gather all the stuff up in a volume and ship it via air to save cost on shipping?

So many questions and yet Lenovo do not response in a timely manner...

yup you got it. Apparently - UPS has a special customs building in Kentucky which handles international shipments. But with Bioterrorism alerts and the risk of Avian Bird flu - they are looking very hard at making sure that the packages coming in are what they say they are. So it seems the real issue here is international shipping during the age of terrorism.


You know you can call them during business hours and ask the ETA of customs. They have some special console which they track customs issues with.

I ordered two, one on 16th and one on 23rd. Neither are even near being delivered, and both were shown in stock and were in think express with no upgrades.
