SHIPPING!!! why does it go to AK??

#1 Post by thesyst3m » Mon Jan 09, 2006 8:36 pm

Location Date Local Time Activity
ANCHORAGE, AK, US 01/09/2006 12:07 P.M. ARRIVAL SCAN
ONTARIO, CA, US 01/09/2006 10:25 A.M. THE SHIPMENT IS BEING HELD BY BROKERAGE FOR REASONS BEYOND UPS' CONTROL
CHEK LAP KOK, HK 01/09/2006 8:00 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
KOWLOON BAY, HK 01/09/2006 4:39 P.M. PICKUP SCAN
HK 01/09/2006 4:16 A.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

i live in the san francisco bay area, which is in CA. as you can see, it went to ontario, CA... heres the tricky part... is the ontario referring to the California one, or the Canada one? (theres one near LA)

anyway, since its already been in ontario under the customs, does it mean now that its left ontario, that the customs stuff is over?

ps, why does it go to alaska?

one more thing, can someone estimate when i receive my laptop?? T43!! so excited....

Rescheduled Delivery: 01/10/2006

it says that on the UPS thing, but is it a realistic estimate?

ONTARIO, CA, US

Ontario, Canada is a province (like a state) not a city. Toronto is in Ontario

This is easy. I recently got acquired a secret copy of the Patriot act, so secret, that the US Govt doesn't even know about it. It turns out that there are a few lines of text inserted into the act IN INVISIBLE INK that allow this activity. Not even the U.S. Congress, who didn't read it anyway, know it is there.

There is provisio for Bill Gates to get a percentage of UPS profits on any shipped computers and components that will, do, did, ever had, or may or could have any form of Microsoft products installed.

There is provisio for UPS to ship items coming into the US to alaska and back just to make more money.

Last, since items of this nature could easily be made into a bomb, these types of extremely suspicious materials are shipped to remote locations (such as Alaska) and stored for a short period of time. This is to allow the bomb to explode harmlessly in a sparsely populated area, as well as run down and freeze any batteries that may be utilized by the bombing process.

But she is an IBM.

Your ThinkPad is in California. The Alaska scan shows up on top because of time zone differences. Mine cleared Ontario California after a week delay over the holidays. If yours doesn't move after three working days, call UPS and find out why. With mine, they claimed Lenovo screwed up the paperwork on the shipment. A subsequent call to Lenovo sorted things out and got it out of customs quickly.
