Does anyone know how it works when you purchase using a credit card? I know a few credit card companies that offer to double your warranty upto one year. Can someone shed some light on this?

it works when you have an Amex card..
i know since i actually did get payment from amex..
on one occasion (i had two losses) i got paid twice..
then never asked for the extra check back and i never cased that one..
it might be here, someplace..

but the thing is, it takes work and time (at least at that time 10 or 12 years ago) to get paid back..

i suggest that you call your CC issuer and start the ball rolling..

Yes, I used a Visa Platinum card to extend the warranty on my A30p, the lcd screen cold cathode tube went bad. They extended the 3 year warranty another year, and paid $543.61, for the repair. Call your credit card company, they will give you the 800 number to call.
