Was the other forum you attempted to sell your X31 on dedicated to Thinkpads, some other brand, or just a general forum? Have you tried to sell it here? I've seen many Thinkpads sell for more here than I'd expect to see it go for on eBay but then I've seen quite a few folks say they won't buy off eBay. What is the configuration? From a quick glance on eBay of X31s sold in the last month I'd say the average selling price is about $800. I saw one as low as $383, one as high as $1200, and many in the $849-$949 range but didn't compare specs or condition. How does the resale price of a similarly aged and equipped Dell, for example, compare with your X31? If you don't like the resale value of notebooks, try buying a new car and drive it out one driveway and into another.
