DataAve
Has anyone here received an order on the day (or around the day) it was ordered?
:) Yes! Both my machines were received before their estimated arrival dates, t42 took 3 weeks total, t30 took 2.

Patience is a virtue  You might look into ordering a second laptop in case you ever have to send yours in for repair, that may turn out to be the real test of one's ability to cope.

That fact that you even thought about posting it in the first place is not mitigated by editing it out and is enough at this point; this thread is about order ETA times, keep it on subject.

Understood, but understand this, the post started 04 Feb 2006, you were the first to reply. The thread was moved today, 10 Feb 2006. I find Lenovo's process interesting (so did 562 other Members). Again, I edited MY post (now your intellectual property) because I read the "rules of the road". I also thought it out and wished not to offend fellow Members, thus, I had edited the post. I am offended that you made the choice to post what I edited out. What is the reasoning?

I understand that all fully; but I do not see 562 opinions on this thread, but views. Your post is not my IP as it was quoted with the correct reference; the rules of the road are actually designed to be read before posting.

I was the first to reply because I had a sincere interest in the thread.

*I* moved this thread and will move any other "why is it taking so long???" thread to Off-Topic to avoid the problem that went on when the T43s came out and every other thread was about how long it took to get them. I got numerous complaints from other users who didn't care about shipping delays and didn't want to plow through the posts. I only moved it today (or was it yesterday?) because that's when I noticed it was in the wrong place. It's been a busy week, and this isn't the only thing I do.

You're new here, DataAve. Don't torment the mod staff. It makes me testy.

These same threads happen pretty much every time a new model is released it seems. What some don't realize is that when a new model comes out, demand is much higher, supply is much shorter and as an end result, prices will be at a premium and so will the waiting lines. This is just simple supply and demand issues, not much more.

I'm sure that this will run the same way the T43 went. Back in early 2005, T43's were similar in terms of difficulty in acquisition but now, they are everywhere it seems. Same will probably happen with the Z series as well as the new T60 and X60.

Personally, if I were to buy one of these, I would wait several months until the product has been tested, a couple of fixes have had time to make their way out and possibly a few performance upgrades are out as well. Also, the prices tend to be lower after a few months so there's another good reason to have patience.

Even with all the delays and pieces sent separately, the Z60m 2529 E9U showed up today, as promised (actually before promise date).

Just got a chance to play with it. I am impressed. Installing additional memory was a pain, I thought I was going to break the palmrest.
