My T60 shipped

#32 Post by wpwood3 » Mon Mar 13, 2006 10:44 am

My T60 shipped today according to the Lenovo order status page. The tracking number is not available yet though.

That was fast!
I ordered my 200768U on 3/7 and it shipped 3/13. They must be churning these things out now.

5 days?!? I think it's obvious now that the new FireGL is slowing down the T60p production.

I perplexed. I see many units shipping that were ordered well after I ordered mine. I ordered a 200762U on 2/16/06. My ship date was and has remained 3/23/06.

Seems like Lenovo ought to ship in the order that the purchases came in. Don't really feel good about being "bumped" in line, as it were. (Not to say that I'm not happy for you who've gotten your units. :D )

Ditto! :D

Though I keep telling myself that it's the v5200 or the custom RAM increase. The scary part is that I've gone a couple of months now laptop-less, and my lifestyle has changed to work around that fact.

It's like I almost don't miss one. :o

Which doesn't mean I don't check my shipping status every 3 minutes.

The only thing I see that is unique about your 200762U is that it is one of the few models that uses the Atheros 11a/b/g wireless adapter instead of the Intel. Maybe that is causing the delay.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I wonder if it is the Atheros card slowing it down.

Just spoke with my sales rep (wanted to order an extra battery and the UltraBay hard drive adapter). He said it should ship next week. But he had no explanation for why some units ordered later were shipping sooner (and didn't really even acknowledge my question.)

Ship dates depend on when a particular model is manufactured, not your order in line. The exception would be two users in line for the same model. The older order could be slowed down in that case if it included any customizations like Office or RAM.

if I'm not mistaken, I believe this is the first 14" SXGA+ T60 reported on these forums as 'shipped.'

I would be VERY curious to hear your impressions, especialy regarding fan noise. thanks in advance.

abisys - please let us know what you think of the UXGA panel on your T60p. According to this page, BOE Hydis is making those panels (ID Tech supplied the UXGA panels on the T4xp series):

Abisys, I'm curious, did your ship date fall back a week or so before your laptop shipped? I ordered my T60p (Express - RIGHT!) on 2/24 and have had a ship date of 3/31 ever since. However, the est. ship date just fell back to 4/5 and I'm really hoping that will not be the case...

Just thought I should update this thread also:

Mine shipped today. (Dates in sig)

But the shipping method shown is UPS Ground. No tracking number yet. Is it shipping from HK?

You guys aren't going to believe this. I ordered on 3/15, and after coming home in a drunken stupor tonight, I was greeted by an email from Lenovo informing me that my order shipped.

This probably means that a lot of you who ordered the 2007-68U will be getting shipment confirmations very soon if you haven't already received them.

The parts list for my ordered T60 don't look right

#49 Post by serpico » Sat Mar 18, 2006 2:55 am

As I mentioned above, I got a shipment notification within 2 days of my order, which seemed a bit odd. When I check the parts list using the serial #, here's what I see:

Mfg part # FRU part # Description Serviceable?

13N7060 13N7061 14.1 INCH LCD DISPLAY FRU YES

26R9376 41V9906 FRU PALMREST ASM W/FINGER PRINT 14 YES

I ordered a stock 2007-68U, which is the T2500 CPU (dual core, 2.0ghz). What's listed above is a Pentium M T1500. Am I completely ignorant with respect to laptops or is this not a 2007-68U? Maybe it's an X40 (which is listed in the row w/ the CPU info)?

Let me know what you think and I'll inform Lenovo.

I don't know what's going on. I ordered a stock 2007-83U with T2600 (2.16GHz) Core Duo processor and in my parts section I have:

41A1012 41W1138 FRU CPU ASM PENTIUM M X50(T1600) 2.16GHZ YES

But I am pretty much sure that this is not something that I need to worry about - might be some misprint or something. If not, then it is a really big mistake on Lenovo's part.

I also ordered a 2007-83U (good choice, sidd!). Delivered March 17. Last UPS check, it left Anchorage. May deliver Monday.

My parts check says "FRU CPU ASM PENTIUM M X50(T1600) 2.16GHZ" as well.

Probably a typo, but what would be the best way to check that it's a Core Duo and not a Core Solo once it arrives?

Should be many different ways. Check bios, Windows system properties or try a third party program like cpu-z.

In fact, I have achieved a new Zen state of acceptance and respect regarding Lenovo's delays, because...

My T60 shipped yesterday!! Six days ahead of schedule!!!

But I wouldn't want to let you all down, so I will say of serpico's three day turn around: &*)&#$&*#$@@&*!!!!! :!: :!: :!:         :!: :!: :!:      :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

How's that?

To be serious, it is very aggravating and lame. I hold to all of my previous remarks.

P.S. My parts list also has the CPU error.

It gets even better. Got a quick turnaround in Kentucky (customs):
LOUISVILLE, KY, US 03/19/2006 5:29 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
03/19/2006 12:41 P.M. IMPORT SCAN
Less than 5 hours.

Ridiculously fast (and Dell-like) order timeline:
Order: 3/15
Shipment confirmation: 3/17
Scheduled delivery 3/21

For the benefit of anyone who hasn't ordered yet, but is in a rush to get a T60, it looks like the 2007-68Us are flying down the assembly lines. There are probably other models that have a combination of parts that are all in stock, but we now know this is the case with the 68U, as others have recently received shipment confirmations for their 68Us ahead of schedule.

Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket . . .

Mine also shipped very quickly. It was in Hong Kong yesterday and on the east coast today.

Here's hoping that all those still wronged by Lenovo's lame fulfillment procedures soon receive their new notebooks in similar speedy fashion.

You guys are actually getting e-mails saying it shipped, correct? What does the website say? Did it change saying shipped as soon as you get the e-mail?
