"I agree to the delay" link?

#1 Post by PTzero » Mon Mar 13, 2006 10:19 pm

I just checked my order status tonight and there was a link on the bottom right that says "I agree to the delay". After clicking on the link my Est. Ship Date was pushed out from 3/14 to 3/27. Is this common for orders on new models?

There was also a "What's this?" link below that which explains:
Due to the overwhelming demand for our very innovative products we have been unable to ship all or part of your Lenovo order. You are a valued customer and we are working to ship your order as soon as possible. However, if we do not hear from you within the next 5 days, federal regulations require us to automatically cancel your order for which you will receive a full refund.

If you would like to keep your order open, please click the “I agree to the delay” button. If you agree to this order extension, you may still cancel your order at any time up until the time of shipment and receive a full and prompt refund by contacting your representative toll free at
1-866-42-THINK.
It's rather odd but I never received any email or phone call to notify me of this. What if I had never checked my order status online? Would they have just automatically canceled my order? That seems to be rather bad customer service. I would have been really [censored] if they canceled my order and I had to re-order and be put at the back of the queue.

I agree with you on this. I would be really tee'd-off if an order I was waiting on for a couple of months was cancelled without any notification.

I guess ordering direct from the manufacturer has it's pluses and minuses!

Update: I called Customer Service this morning and inquired about my order status. According to the CS representative it's already in the "build" stage and should ship by the end of the week.
