Different, but very nice. It will certainly stand out and hopefully prevent someone walking away with your system...for fear of it being one of a kind.

And I guess Kyocera can now get a good night of sleep.

Ha!, a radical departure such as this from the norm of thinkpad aesthetics is a far and wide reaching statement, it says to those of us who fear change and avoid confrontation that we too can "pimp my thinkpad!" You are a trail blazer.

Talk about being stuck in the 60's!!!!

Lime green, harvest gold and avocado, the colors that send chills down the spine of anyone active in residential real estate.

Back in the day when I was still living in EU my Lotus Elan was a proper BRG. My girlfriend's Lotus Europa on the other hand was LIME GREEN! God, that car was an offense to the eye.

That works! My Camaro was candy apple red.

If you mean the passenger compartment, it was certainly confined.

I'm two meters tall and, at that time, weighed ~100 kilos. One day the girlfriend's Europa won't start due to an empty battery as she left for her very early AM shift at the hospital, so, as she didn't want to wake me, she left me note explaining the problem and took my MY car keys and drove off in my Elan.

You would have died laughing watching me attempting to get into the Europa! I had to sit on the ground, stick my legs in and then scootch my butt into the car.

Driving it over to the hospital to reclaim my car was a joy as my knees stuck up on either side of the steering wheel and every time I tried to shift gears my Frye boot clad foot would hit the brake as well as the clutch.

No longer have the car or the girlfriend, but I still have those Frye boots!

James

Well, at the end you did got a great story to tell, so not al was lost :P

But about colouring my ThinkPad... maybe... I am trying to sell my X31 at the moment, so I can buy an X60s, but if that doesn't workout I might just do it :)

(Thinking about, candy apple red, and navy blue or something like that :))

Hey, I don't do that.

Maybe becase it's legal here some do, but the majority does not.

And indeed, all the people that have seen my laptop in person love it, so i guess you really have to see it in person to appreciate it.

Thanks, no problem. I'm happy with the thinkpad forums, they are great to buy things, to ask things and of course to let people see how a orange IBM thinkpad will look like

Even I appreciate it Toine.

It may not be to everyone's liking, but I commend you for sticking to your guns and seeing the project through to completion.

Certainly not something for someone who wants to keep a low profile!

As long as you're happy with it, what else really matters?

No one appreciated Van Gogh at first either!
