Screwdriver kit - Experiences?

#1 Post by lophiomys » Sun Jul 25, 2004 8:11 am

Does anyone have the Screwdriver kit for Thinkpads?
Or even the Torque screwdriver?

Is it worth the money?
...
From the R5x Hardware Maintenance Manual:
Screwdriver kit 95F3598
Torque screwdriver 05K4695

It's a 6 piece Stanley screwdriver kit. Too expensive.

I use a set of screwdrivers I bought at Radio Shack. I got the two separate sets of drivers so I have 5 different flat and Phillips blades. I also got a set of mini-Torx Tamper-Evident drivers, but I only need them for swapping controller cards on dead hard drives. I also got a nut driver for the connectors on the Serial and Parallel ports.

FWIW, I only have worked on 600, 760, and 770 machines; don't know if the newer ones use Torx.

Hope this helps.
