Which travel shoulder/messenger bag for Thinkpad?

#1 Post by jagged » Wed Apr 12, 2006 10:28 am

I'm currently using a Tumi Gen 4.4 Essential Brief as an everyday bag to work and I'm very satisfied with it. Its quite compact but has enough space for documents and material used is of very high quality. The only downside is the expensive price tag.

I travel overseas several times a year and I'm planning to get a slightly bigger shoulder bag for more storing capacity. An expandable Tumi Gen4.4 would be nice but I like to try something else for a change.

I usually carry around these:
1) computer compartment - My Thinkpad T60 & small mouse
2) document compartment - A few A4 sized documents, 2-3 brochures
3) front pocket - 2nd mobile phone, passport, 2nd wallet, business cards, keys, candies, USB memory stick, card reader, coins, cigarettes
4) extra space - some stuff I buy occasionally from duty free like magazines, cigarettes, cologne

Any suggestions as to which brand/model to get? I like a shoulder bag with very good quality, has a combination of different pockets/compartments, that cost under $300.

What's your shoulder bag setup for travelling ? I'm open to any suggestion.

Thanks!!

Avenues America

I have an Avenues America notebook backpack that I use to carry my Thinkpads (an A22m and a T23). It looks like a regular backpack but with a special compartment for the notebook computer. 8)
