Re: AutoRoute maps of central an eastern Europe
Garmin has very little for Central and Eastern Europe other than some third-party offerings. Their Western Europe coverage is excellent.krma-thkpds wrote:Does anyone know if these maps are accessible?
Microsoft MapPoint 2004 EU has limited coverage of Western Europe (Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, and Great Britain/UK.), but MapPoint 2006 has much better EU coverage and expanded coverage of some of Central and Eastern Europe. Downside is that it costs a veritable fortune at around €279! Won't be released to market until this summer, if then.
The paid version of Google Earth Plus has the best streets and routes coverage presently available for Central and Eastern Europe AFAIK.

I am aware of all those maps available online. I also know about the Garmin maps but what I am looking for is something I could import into Microsoft AutoRoute. The thing is that I got a CD of MS AutoRoute and when I installed it I figured that detailed maps are only available for western Europe. I remember thet with previous version of MS AutoRoute the detailed map coverage was much greater. I need maps of Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary.

Check the NGs for overlays that you can import into Autoroute for various "non-supported" areas.
