Not Oscilliscope related......FWIW....

Well.....

I have a (solid) silver 1920's "belt watch" made by CYMA with black enamel; to this day it still works! (really sweet watch) It has seen better times, but it still ticks. It is worn on a belt like a wrist watch BUT it remains closed; you press a button (all silver) and the watch "pops-out" into a 90 degree angle perpendicular to the wearer, you look at the time and then close it. (I used to collect pocket watches and had tons of reference material; I have not been able to find any iformation regarding this tipe of watch. CYMA is still around, I have contacted them on several occassions but they have ignored all my questions....)

I also have a G-Shock from Casio that I purchased in 1992; still working with the original battery!!!

On the same note...

I purchased a Citizen Eco-Drive in 2000 ($300); and that watch was in the factory 3 times in the last 5 years! Last year they had to replace the entire movement. Now I am out of warranty, if it kicks the bucket again.....I am mailing it back to Citizen and they can keep it!!

You were hijacking a thread!

Why you didn't post your tale in the original "Things that last" thread I don't understand.

We moved your post into the right thread. Hope you don't mind. With respect to watches, my everyday working watch came from a relative who was killed in the Second World War. So the watch is older than I am. I have a pair of Utica diagaonal cutting pliers older than I am, and they are so hard they cut piano wire easily and without damage. I think those are the only two things I have in working daily use that are older than me. ... JD Hurst

I was not sure if Bill would mind, me hijacking his threat.....I guess he did

The  , was because there was no explanation, not because of the move!!!

and to add to that.....

My dad has a Craftsman drill and scroll saw (all aluminum body) and they still work like new!

First, it was John's thread, not Bill's, and it was me that split your post off into a new topic.

I figured you'd "get" it.
