SmackPad
A video has been going 'round the internets, showing off the motion sensor in the new MacBook (Pro)s. While a little goofy, it's actually pretty awesome, you smack the side of the notebook, and your workspace changes. Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uvQTTPr9Rw.
Anyways, since (most) ThinkPads have the same sort of sensor, somebody figured out how to make it work on a ThinkPad with Linux: http://micampe.it/2006/06/04/here-comes-the-smackpad. I can't vouch for it's effectivness, as I don't have my T60 yet (10 more days!), but I know this is the first thing I'm going to try. Anyone wanna post a video if they get it working?

What a great idea! Smacking the display lid (or base, say where the HDD resides) around to change desktops!
Until your video screen goes out from the jolts. Or the HDD crashes losing your data.
Please do post video of your T60 with you doing this. Let us know what kind of warranty you have, too.

Well, it seemed to work well for thousand of years!davidspalding wrote:Well, that's how they used to get new babies breathing -- and crying -- turn 'em upside down and smack that little bottom.
Such brutal birth rites ... better to do it to a LenovoPad than one's firstborn.
Now we get no smacking and look were the world is going..
