A series of bomb explosions rocked the suburban railway system in Mumbai on Tuesday. Reports of bomb blasts have come in from between Mahim-Matunga in north-central Mumbai, Khar, Jogeshwari (both in north-west Mumbai), Borvali (north Mumbai) and Mira Road (in Mumbai north, in Thane district), at a time when the suburban commuter traffic was its heaviest.

Police Commissioner A N Roy has said 90 passengers have been killed in the blasts, and 250 injured. PTI reports that the blasts took place in a span of 30 minutes in first class compartments of suburban trains.
