In addition, pay particular attention tho this:
" The RJ-45 plugs are normally made for either solid conductors or stranded conductors. It is very important to be sure that the plug that you use matches the conductor type. It is extremely difficult to tell the difference between the two by looking at them. When you buy these plugs, be sure to categorize, and store them carefully"

What they are referring there is storing the new, unused CONNECTORS after you buy them, and more importantly, possibly after you open a package and use a few
After you buy these, it's easy to forget which connectors are for stranded or solid conductor cable. I'm afraid I'm guilty of that, myself. In addition, there exists special connectors that are made for larger or smaller than "commonly normal" sized wire.
Two way and amateur radio is a good example of that. RJ45 type connectors are being used, nowadays, for all sorts of cable end applications besides just networking, and that of course means even more special types of RJ45's to get mixed up.
