AFAIK, PSPICE runs under conventional Win platform (hence hamed PSPICE - SPICE for PCs). We have at work several licenses for PSPICE (actually integrated into ORCAD design environment) run on Win XP machines, and SPICE on UNIX (and LINUX if I'm not wrong).
However being able to run a complex and robust fully integrated chip design environment encompassing all stages from design through simulation, layout all the way to tapeout on a Thinkpad sounds neat indeed. I stepped into "mobile engineering" just recently (so far mainly for DSP/MATLAB work) but begun to appreciate Thinkpad's abilities and robustness right away, even though running just a conventional T43 (not a dual core). In fact, the idea of fully mobile engineering computing backed up by Thinkpad quality serves me even better then I was hoping for allowing much better time utilization (which is very important for someone who tries to manage to split himself between family, study and work..)
I'm thinking about trying out myself as a contructor once will gain at least several years of experience in the industry in relevant field (hopefully DSP, signal processing algorithms), then it seems building the working environment around Thinkpads sounds a worth idea...(given they will continue with the high acclaimed 3-years warranty)....

14.1" T43 2668-6ZU machine.
ATI x300, 1GB RAM, 40 GB HDD, all the connectivity (except of Bluetooth), DVD/CD-WR Combo...
Still excited about this great machine...
