Voice recognition, I am still amazed they are having such problems with it. Kinda reminds me of the early days of speech recognition software.


I do know how hard it is to make one I made a voice recognition system with an IBM DT3010 board, a breadboard, and some good old fashioned C coding on a PC; worked a tad better than Dragon Naturally Speaking.

I agree, as I am equally astonished at the slow progress in this area. That said, I'm even more amazed that I have heard from a solid, reliable source that a very large, Northern California based health care organization is rolling out the latest version of Dragon in the very near future. As conservative as this organization is, it strikes me as very risky move. Especially as concurrently they are migrating to 100% electronic patient records.
