I bought my '01 A4qt because I go to school in the Berkshires and AWD comes in quite handy in the hills. It is stock for now, for I have little money for mods, unfortuntaly. Anyone care to share what car(s) you drive on a daily basis/weekend ride?

Big car fan here.

I have a website with some pictures I've taken (I'm an amateur, so don't expect TOO much): www.socal-exotics.com

My daily driver is an '06 Audi S4.

Next car will be a 996 Porsche 911 GT3.

Very nice Marc and definitely some pro quality shots.

Seeing as you're in the aerospace sector, where's the PLANE shots?

Everyone seemed to see every car but the single one that matters - the E55.

Do I remember reading somewhere that there is a 12 month waiting list for these in the US (or am I thinking about something else)?

The current availability of the E55 in my neck of the woods is in direct relation to how much over list price you're willing to pay for one!

Thanks! If I were pickier about what I shared, I could probably have a pretty decent portfolio.

While the blackbird was universally held in awe by civilian aircraft cognoscenti, it was just as universally viewed with a jaundiced eye by the Habu drivers!

A good friend who regularly flew the bird out of Kadena probably put the pilot's experience best when he said "Unlike flying most aircraft where there comes a point where you can relax a bit and enjoy the trip, the Blackbird kept your butt so clenched throughout the trip that you couldn't have driven a needle into my anus with a sledgehammer!".

Google "unstart".

But yeah, I'd still give my left testicle for a ride! Although I've been "[censored]" on by one on more than one occasion.

Nice Audi blackwood. My cousin has an '06 S4 in Arizona, so I have yet to ride in one. GT3 is a very intense ride.

haha! But I was meaning that I work on satellites these days and not airplanes. I worked on two combat aircraft programs (one production: JSF; one not so much) before migrating over to space.

Thanks. You can see a picture of mine (which is one of the 250 "25quattro" cars) in the background of this shot. It also turns up here and there throughout my galleries. I've never done a photoshoot of my S4, though.

Yah, I love the GT3, and they aren't out-of-the-realm-of-possibility (cost wise). When the 997 GT3 and GT3RS come out, I'll look seriously for a 996 GT3. Right now low-mileage cars (circa 5-10k) are running about 70-80k depending on options. This one is extremely tempting.

Saw a Koenigsegg CCX yesterday!

#102 Post by blackwood » Fri Aug 25, 2006 12:05 pm

Armen graced Rick's Haus of Pizza in Costa Mesa with the presence of the Swedish masterpiece: Koenigsegg's CCX! So far, this is the only such car in the United States. Two days ago it was wearing yellow movie paint for its role in the movie Redline. This weekend it will make its way out to Las Vegas to be put on display at Caesar’s Palace. This car is an absolute MONSTER (it’s not your father’s Volvo).

If the man with the most toys wins, then archer6 is the clear winner hands down.

I drive an old Cougar daily. I would replace it , but no one makes big heavy 2dr luxury coupes anymore.

My sumer cruiser is a 1965 Mustang I rebuilt from scratch over a period of 8 years...

I lurk there (sort of like here, lately). Currently I drive two BMWs - a 2003 325i and 2003 Z4. My brother's been urging me to upgrade - get a 2006 E46 M3 and 2006 Z4 M Roadster. My own thinking is that two S54-engined cars is asking for trouble down the line in terms of maintenance, but I'm keeping an eye on things.

I'm leaning towards swapping my Z4 with 2.5i for a 3-liter version, and then creating a a sort of ZCP/ZHP version - cams, exhaust, ECU upgrade, lightened flywheel and swapping in a 3.46 diff would move it into the low 5s for 0-60 for a fraction of the cost of an M Roadster. From there I'd start lightening it - the Z4 M is already 200 lbs heavier than the stock car, and I could shave another few hundred off the 3.0i pretty painlessly (manual seats, manual top, lighter wheels, etc). In the end, I'd have something capable of harassing the current M3/M Roadsters with cheaper running costs.

However, if BMW puts the new 3-liter twin turbo into a Z4 roadster, all bets are off! :)

It's a tough call. That car would be similar (in some opinions superior) to the M Roadster/M Coupe, for less money, so BMW would be undercutting another model and they're sensitive about that these days (there was no 4-door E46 M3 because they thought it undercut M5 sales).
