The prettiest laptops - let's vote!
I don't know if this has been done on this forum before, but I thought it might be fun to nominate what we think are the prettiest laptops ever made, regardless of brand. Let me get the ball rolling! As a big Thinkpad fan, of course I think many Thinkpads look terrific, but for some unknown reason I consider the Dell Inspiron 300m to be the best-looking laptop ever!
Now it's your turn to vote!

PowerBook Duo because of the 90s retro styling and overall coolness.

IBM 701c ThinkPad a.k.a. the "Butterfly"
Cute size, just the right proportions, with a full keyboard.
I would also like to nominate the T4X and X Series of Thinkpads ( Including my T43 of course
), the 600s, the Powerbook G3s from the Wallstreet to the Pismo, the last Powerbooks, and the MacBook.

Rather than having the notepad on the right side with the computer on the left, e.g.:NS wrote:What do you mean by left-handed model?

The left handed units have the pad on the left and the computer on the right, e.g.:

The Thinkpad T4x series. Because I own one
)
Actually, I dont know. Come to think of it, I -do- actually prefer the T4x series. Or any Thinkpad, for that matter.
Mainly because the design states a corporate expression. The thinkpad matte, rugged and form-following-function design makes it want to be taken serious. No bells and whistles, just a design that works.
Which in my mind is the most beautiful thing of all. Somewhat like the Carrera GT - solely designed by aerodynamics.
Pardon the bad english formulation, I hope you get the picture.

I don't have and use Thinkpads because they're "pretty"
I buy them and use them because I like the keyboard, and IBM has about the best online support bar none. Grateway and Dellhell have never even come close to the archived info on their help pages, and Comcrap isn't even on the field.
pretty, indeed.

I consider Thinkpads to be as a whole the best looking of the bunch because the design is simple, elegant, and in such a way that function drives form (not the other way around). I think a Thinkpad in many ways looks like a stealth jet fighter.
Thinkpads that I especially like:
-Any of T4x
-Any of X2x
-S30
-701 series
-Transnote
-Especial mention to T2x series (my first Thinkpad experience, and in many ways ergonomically superior to the T4x).
What is the most disgusting laptop I have ever seen? That is an easy question: A pimped out Alienware behemoth with more lights than an Amsterdam bordello. Completely lack of elegance and class for an outrageous price. Ugh!

Yep, i agree. When i buy a thinkpad, i will do this:Thinkpaddict wrote:I consider Thinkpads to be as a whole the best looking of the bunch because the design is simple, elegant, and in such a way that function drives form (not the other way around). 1: Look for the functions
2: Then look at the design
3: Then look at the $$$...
Another vote for ThinkPads...when I was shopping for my laptop upgrade earlier this year, the look of the T4x series was a pretty big factor. The red highlights stand out just enough to add a nice aesthetic touch, and looking at my T40 on the day that I bought it, I just said to myself "That is mine"

I still remember the feeling when I saw the picture of a T21 in CNET, just weeks after getting a laptop from a different brand.
It felt like I should have gone with the T21. I rectified the problem soon though.

I changed my mind about the Dell Inspiron 300m being the prettiest laptop, after realizing that most of their LCD monitors have the "smiley face" problem:

Pretties Laptop(?)
http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3035
I am a collector of Coca Cola paramaphelia and I like Thinkpads. I think this is the prettiest laptop/notebook computer.
I am trying to see if one can buy one. I am in the USA and it seems it is sold in China(?).

Shhh...my wife collects Coca-Cola items as well. If she saw this, I might have to buy another NON-Thinkpad.BigWarpGuy wrote:http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3035

My BIL is a major trader in Coke paraphernalia and I look forward to taunting him with this gem and the reality that he probably can't get one!
