Bah, I have no idea how students sit and write in bed...
Maybe I need more pillows....
Cheers

Xmm, this is exactly what makes me wondering also. I'm student myself (actually finishing this year) and even though I can't barg by a logn laptop owing experience (just about 3-4 months and T43 is my first one and so far the best choice I could make), I went through quite expensive online research on laptop options, making through several well known laptop forums and communities and found using notebook in bed by students (and not only) for study is quite prevalent habit.revolutionary_one wrote:Bah, I have no idea how students sit and write in bed...

I tryed this myself - certainly found it uncomfortable to say the least, even holding one on my laps for more then just few minutes doesn't make good (the bottom gets somewhat hot (not terribly but certainly not good warming feeling to groin
Perhaps I indeed missing something...

Well, thanks, but this seems to defeat the idea of portability of laptop. One will need to lug the pad around and the device doesn't look like a tiny accessory...
Besides, I'm not sure I would consider developing the habit of notebook usage on laps (or in bed) for any prolonged period of time is good idea anyway...(well, since I usually work with it either home, at work or at study, in most cases I manage to figure a normal place with a table to put the laptop on) , perhaps would I fly with it a lot, I woudl indeed re-consider....

it slides into most any laptop bag and hardly weighs anything. i like it because it give the laptop a good viewing angle, and props the keys up for easier typing. plus, if i want to use it on my lap, i should still be able to have children someday.

I havn't any personal experience with the pad, just judge from the picture and the description, but if you do use it, I guess there is true in what you say.
BTW, just today I finally bought a backpack to carry my Thinkpad along with the study stuff. I usually have a book or two, some papers, a writing-pad and few other accessories with me in the bag which in fact doesn't leave much space for anything else...
However chances I'll indeed consider the thing in some future....who knows..
Oh, having two children already, I have to worry a bit less about the issue, but again, God knows...
