EDIT-Answer found. Apparently part of normal operation.
I'm on my 6th RAZR. I continue to hate them, but keep finding them so cheap. The one I'm using now had a bit of water in it, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the root of this problem.
When the phone is opened (main screen on), a frequency comes out of the speakerphone opening, sounding just like the inverter frequency on a laptop. Anyone have knowledge of cell phone screens and what could be making the noise? I'm looking for a good cell phone forum, but they are generally swamped with a-holes.

I have a RAZR and that shouldn't be part of the normal operation. If it is making a buzzing noise, that most likely means that some component in their (e.g. the speaker amp) is getting non-optimal power levels and/or fluctuations. Or it could be that it is just interfering with itself as, even though it is rare, should theoretically happen on at least some cell phones.

well i don't like your phone either!
that seems to make sense, but i found a notice from motorola stating that the noise was not a flaw and items with the noise would not be replaced under warranty. my battery life has been suffering lately, i have a feeling that may be playing into it.
