Those comments by Cousteau are rather unfortunate, and quite distasteful. Anybody can agree or disagree in the way Steve Erwin handled animals, but to say that he died because he was disrespectful to nature and to claim that you were diving when the other guy was still in pampers is just stupid and a clear sign of envy.

Steve Erwin was not only a nature lover (although some of his methods can obviously be objected to by some), but most importantly he was a heck of a showman. That's what made him really successful, and that's why so many people loved him. That's why Cousteau is so envious, even after Steve Erwin's death.
